How does SpiralFrog work?

Posted on August 30th, 2006.

According to all the reports I have heard thus far it works by “forcing” you to watch and advertisement, after which you will be able to download songs.  Now, does this mean that you have to watch an ad each time you download a song, or will one ad count for several downloads?

More importantly I want to find out what rights you have to the music after it has been downloaded. Can it be burned to disc, transported off the computer, does it need a license check each time the file is opened?

I am hoping that multiple file formats are handled.  Converting tracks is quite a pain in the ass and having a choice of itunes, mp3, etc.. would be quite helpful.

I think you have to watch one and a half minutes of adverts per download.

I read on danish teletext (Danish TV2) that you will not be able to use the downloaded files for iPod, MP3-players or Burn them to disc.

This is okay for me as I usually listen to music while working at my computer. However many may be sorry for this, but I don’t think that the recordcompanies would agree to let people download and just freely do anything with their music. This way they (propably) hope to sell actual songs from other download-sites or physical CD’s

I just hope that the ad is a one-time thing, if you are forced to listen to and as every time you listen to a specific track I probably wont use this service, but if it’s a one-time thing this can be a great succes. :o )

That’s not how it works.
